Alvin Freestand Counterbalance Permanent is one of the cheapest and easiest possible ways to provide fully compliant long term protection for those working at height. It all goes together simply using an Allen key, using the same components as the temporary version, the difference is the BS13700:2021 standard requires site-specific wind calculations that determine what your maximum upright spacing can be. These calculations are available from us Free of Charge, simply contact one of our team with the following details:
1) Length of each separate run of guardrail
If you have one, a basic plan or sketch of the roof and all runs of guardrail required.
2) Post Code of the site where the product will be installed
If you don’t have a post code, you can use this grid reference finder tool: Grid Reference Finder
3) Maximum height of the building
Or of the level on which the Freestand system is required
4) Any information on pitch of the roof(s)
5) End detail
If you can terminate either end of each run into the wall or to an existing system already on the roof
6) Any gates or other gaps required.
7) Type of roof material e.g. felt, PVC membrane, metal section, concrete if possible
8) Any runs of guardrail where there is no parapet wall
Toeboard may need to be fitted to these spans to prevent a risk ofobjects being kicked off the roof
