Delivery Costs
The cost of delivery is based on three elements;
- Delivery Post Code
- Longest Length of Tube
- Weight
To obtain an accurate delivery cost please add items to the cart, entering your delivery postcode and selecting a delivery option from the drop down list.
Small to Medium Orders
Overnight couriers limit packages to 3 meters in length, costs from £15.
Medium to Large Orders
We can offer two forms of delivery for larger orders, palette & truck.
- Palette (the longest tube possible is 3.2 meters in length) costs from £65.00
- Truck (tubes can be 6.4m) costs from £97.00
The day your order starts is the day the order is placed for orders made before 12:00 midday. Orders placed after midday or during weekends and public holidays will not be start until the next working day.
1. Orders that contain Clamps Only are usually dispatched the same day for next day delivery.
2. Orders that contain Clamps & less than 10 tubes are usually dispatched the same day for next day delivery.
3. Orders that contain tube that requires cutting take longer to dispatch, this depends on the current workload of the cutting department.
4. Orders that contain Clamps & 10 or more tubes are sent out on a pallet service or trucking service. The length of time for these services depend on the number of orders going to your area. If you are in a major city it is more likely that a truck will be going your way in the next few days.
On the day your order is dispatched you will receive a delivery and tracking email. Your order should arrive the next day for services 1,2 & 3 and within a few days for service 4. (tracking is not always available)
The longest your order should take is 7 working days from the day the order is placed. If your delivery is likely to take longer than 7 working days we will endeavour to contact you to let you know why.
Whilst we make every effort to stick as closely as we can to the delivery times stated above, we cannot be held responsible for costs incurred as a result of late delivery.
If your order includes delivery method 1, 2 or 3 then your items will be sent via DX who, if you are not on site to received the order, will attempt delivery on two separate occasions, leaving a contact card each time. After the second attempt, the goods will be stored at their local depot for your collection. A third delivery attempt can be arranged but an extra charge maybe given by DX.
If your order includes method 4, your order will be delivered by a dedicated truck directly to site. If there is no one to receive the order then the truck will return to the warehouse and a charge will be given for any further delivery attempts.
Unfortunately we do not have a system for customer collection, however we can deliver direct to you.
The Clamps and tubes are not available from stock in any other finish than galvanised. There are many different finishes that can be obtained, below are two options that can be applied to both the clamps and tube after they are purchased.
1. Powder Coating
Introduction
- Powder Coating is an electrostatically applied heat cured dry powder which can achieve a high build thickness. Examples of powder coating can be found on most white goods such as washing machines fridges etc. found in your home. It is possible to powder coat both tube and clamps to almost any RAL / BS colour.
Advantages
- High build with minimal sagging (Thick, minimal drip marks)
- No curing period
- Suited to large batches
Disadvantages
- High build may interfere with the fitting of clamps over tube.
- High initial set up cost for each batch / colour, if one extra clamp is required after the initial order another high set up charge will be incurred.
- Process requires factory equipment so on site application is not possible.
- As items are delivered coated the packaging from the powder coaters to site will have to ensure that no damage occurs.
- On most occasions grub screws are removed prior to coating, they will require refitting and potentially painting onsite.
- When the grub screws are tightened they will mark the tube and its coating so can not be repositioned.
2. Wet Applied Paint (Painting)
Introduction
- In the liquid application, paint can be applied by direct application using brushes, rollers or by means of spraying. Most systems have a large number of stock colours and if required the paint can be mixed to a RAL or BS number. Paints can be both water and solvent based.
Advantages
- Can be applied after the system has been assembled on site.
- Low set up costs and extra fitting or tube can be coated at a later date for minimal costs.
- Suitable for large and small systems.
- Is available from most good DIY stores etc.
- Multiple colours can be achieved for minimal cost.
- Items do not have to endure delivery handling whilst in a coated state.
Disadvantages
- High build may produce sags and runs.
- Larger installations will be laborious to coat.
- Process requires curing time between each coat and prior to use.
- If the components may become stuck together hindering the dismantling of the system if required.
- COSH & Health and safety implications of working on site with potentially hazardous materials such as paint.

Indoor With Occasional Condensation And Outdoor Rural In-Land
Typical Galvanised components and tube in these environments will have a very short lifespan of up to 20 years before significant Red Rust is evident
Indoor High Humidity And Outdoor Industrial In-Land
Typical Galvanised components and tube in these environments will have a lifespan of up to 15 years before significant Red Rust is evident.
Indoor Swimming Pools And Outdoor Industrial In-land
Typical Galvanised components and tube in "Outdoor Coastal" environment will have a lifespan of up to 10 years before significant Red Rust is evident.
Outdoor Coastal And Outdoor High Humidity Coastal
Typical Galvanised components and tube in this environment will have a very short lifespan of up to five years before significant Red Rust is evident.
We will refund unused products subject to a 25% restocking fee if returned within 30 days of the original order being dispatched, provided that the products are returned in their original unused condition. Items that are returned are done so at the customers own risk and cost. Any refund for any returned items will be less their original delivery cost.
This returns policy excludes any custom items and items that have been used, powder coated, painted or cut, this includes items that have been powder coated, painted or cut by Alvin Key Clamps to fulfill any original order.
Before returning any items please contact the sales team for a RAN (returns authorisation number) which must be clearly marked on any returns. (Contact details can be found below).
