The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) rightly places equality of access high on the agenda for managers or designers of buildings across the UK. Ensuring access routes in and around your building are accessible is a key part of meeting the DDA, and requirements for appropriate handrails are included in Part M of the Building Regulations.
