Alvin Skylight Covers and Alvin Dome Guard provide two excellent options for minimising the risk of the most common fall from a roof, falling though a skylight or vent. Skylights can become brittle with age and with the build-up of moss, dirt and debris they can be hard to distinguish from the surrounding metal panels.
Alvin Skylight Covers have been designed to withstand a person falling on to them and have been tested to the Class B criteria for “Non-Fragility of Large Element Roof Assemblies” contained in the ACR Red Book. They are the ideal solution for protecting people on the roof from accidentally stepping on or through a flat skylight-panel. A raised option is available to provide separation between the cover and the skylight itself. They are also available with powder-coated frames in a high-visibility colour to highlight the risk area.
Alvin Dome Guard is a specialist version of our popular Freestand Compact range designed to prevent or control access to larger objects in particular skylights, smoke vents or hatches that need to open outwards. The counterweights are specially shaped to fit tightly around corners of hatches and rooflights, minimising wasted space. Options for gates and high visibility powder coating are available.
