Alvin Dome Guard
The Alvin Dome Guard range has been specially developed to provide collective fall protection around Skylights, Rooflights, Domelights and any other fragile roof penetration which presents a fall risk to people on the roof. Alvin Dome Guard can also be configured with self-closing gates for use around roof access hatches.

All Dome Guard products are fully free-standing and require no roof-penetration. The recycled PVC weighted bases ensure the Dome Guard provides solid and dependable fall protection.

Our smaller range of protection, Dome Guard Mini features a mesh infill panel and is intended to prevent a user from stepping on or falling through a small skylight or similar. At approximately 600mm high these shorter units are ideal where building aesthetics are a significant consideration and can protect objects between 1.2m x 1.2m and 1.8m x 1.8m.

Dome Guard is the full size range and it’s modular design is based around three stock tube lengths, 1.5m, 2m or 3.2m. This means a wide variety of sizes can be specified using only a small range of fittings and custom sizes can also be easily designed to suit your needs. Dome Guard is a full height guardrail which surrounds the skylight or similar, preventing access by roof users.
For protecting roof access hatches, a gate can be incorporated into some of the larger sizes, allowing controlled access to the risk area for access to and from the hatch, while still providing collective fall protection to the remainder of the users on the roof.
Key Features
Both systems use a recycled PVC base like our Freestand Compact product line, however the Dome Guard bases are shaped to fit snugly around the corners of a roof penetration, minimising intrusion into the walkways or roof area where space is often at a premium.
Modular design uses standard Alvin Key Clamps and stock tube lengths meaning a huge variety of shapes and sizes can be ordered from stock and be on site within a few days. The same goes for spare parts, should a unit suffer damage on site you can rest assured that we can get parts to you promptly.
The design complies with EN14122 Part 3 and both Dome Guard and Dome Guard Mini systems work on any roof surface with a maximum pitch of 3º.
Quick and simple assembly means these systems can be used as a permanent solution or can be disassembled and moved for short term projects.
